"You gotta eat big to get big!" says my trainer, D-muscle. During the off season for tennis, I have taken up weightlifting. Not only will it help me with tennis, but it will hopefully pay dividends on the beach in Cali during spring break. I started lifting a few times a week, right after tennis season ended. However, I recently told my buddy about it, who happens to be a huge and passionate weightlifter. I told him my workout plan and he has made major changes to it. But more importantly, he advises me to change my diet. Eating right is essential to getting jacked. This means eating veggies; D-muscle says to eat two salads a day if I am serious about it. Is it worth it? I'm that guy who eats mozzarella sticks, shakes, and steaks, and stays skinny. I also happen to eat as little veggies as possible, unless my mom forces it down my throat.
Surprisingly, I have been taking D-muscle's suggestion on eating healthier. D hall was serving cobb salads the other day, and I grabbed one and enjoyed it. I know what you're probably thinking, how healthy are cobb salads? Yes, cobbs, which have chicken, bacon, and egg, aren't the most nutritious salads, but it's a start. I'll get to red sail and spinach down the road. But right now, I'm going to stick to cobbs and icebergs. There's nothing like a good iceberg; the fresh lettuce smothered with blue cheese dressing can't be beat. It's going to be hard going from those bad boys to a house salad with balsamic vinaigrette. But I'll get there! Does this mean I'm just going to eat healthy food? Hell no. You'll still see me over at late night eating sliders, fries and grilled cheeses. And you'll definitely see me posting the the not-so-healthy food I'm crushing on here.
Is D-muscles Dustin?! hahahaha Interesting! I don't quite get why you have to be jacked to play tennis..just fast. But good for you! I'm rooting for ya buddy!
ReplyDeletesounds good man, keep it up! By the way, drinking alcohol is bad for muscular growth, so keep that in mind on the weekends.
ReplyDeleteHave to start somewhere!! As long as you are making an effort to eat at least one healthy meal everyday. Stay strong!
